How We Decide On A Score
People ask how we land on a number, so here's the honest answer: there's no secret formula, but there is a consistent process.
We play a game long enough to hit its weak spots. Anyone can enjoy the first hour; we care whether the fun survives day three. We weigh controls, performance, battery use and whether the game respects your time.
A score around four means we genuinely enjoyed it and would keep it installed. Anything higher means it stood out in its genre. We rarely go near the top of the scale, because reserving those numbers keeps them meaningful.
The scores are subjective, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we promise is that they're honest and based on real play, not on who sent us the nicest email.
